Rev. Ruth’s Reflections – June 9th, 2023

Rev. Ruth's Reflections Hello Emerald Coasters!

Saturday is our local PRIDE walk and rally in Ft. Walton Beach at Liza Jackson Park beginning at 8:00am. It is a vitally important opportunity to demonstrate to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, plus folk that we support them all! It is also an important chance to show the whole community that our fellowship fully loves and fully includes LGBTQ+.

I will be there, staffing our booth in my marching shirt that reads, “Faith founded on love, not creeds” on the front and “Unitarian Universalist Minister” on the back in large, friendly letters! I wonder how many other religious organizations will be there in support of PRIDE?

Our Transgender siblings and friends are under attack! Their parents and families are under attack. Some are our own members and children. We need LOTS of UUs to show up and stand with these precious people!

Please do your best to show up and wave your rainbows with PRIDE!

I am SO proud to call you my congregation!

In Wisdom and Grace,
Rev. Ruth
