I want a lot for Christmas!
Not sparkling, shimmering baubles or silky, colorful drapery; not extraordinary gadgets or shiny new kitchenware; not a new car (though it would be nice for my old one to work properly); no new devices (I have enough trouble figuring out the ones I have now!); no travel cause I’d rather be at home with my guys.
My wants are simple and outrageous.
I want the war in Ukraine to end, along with the 20 or so other armed conflicts going on in the world right now.
I want to see the hungry people fed, everywhere.
I want all the children to be safe and well, including the children who have become adults.
I have a third of my life, or less, yet to live, and I want to be more useful, more helpful, more effective . . . I want a better, more just and peaceful world than the one I encountered when I arrived on the scene.
I want more, a lot more, and I hope and hope, and weep and hope and rage and hope, and try and keep hoping.
Join me?
In wisdom and grace,
Rev. Ruth
