In response to the senseless massacre of 19 young children and 2 adults at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX, a March for Our Lives rally will be held to end gun violence in downtown Pensacola on Saturday, June 11th at Ferdinand Plaza located at the corner of East Government St. and South Palafox St. at 10:00am. Please make plans to attend. The rally will focus on demanding lawmakers take action immediately to stop the gun violence epidemic. It is possible that the rally will also include a march. Please bring your poster to help spread the word that we have had enough and demand common sense gun legislation. This is a nation wide march on June 11th. Its national event is sponsored by Moms Demand Action and everytown.org.
There will be inspirational speakers including students, teachers and doctors. Their message and ask for this rally are simple: no longer will we be held hostage by our lawmakers and no longer will we tolerate feeling unsafe in our communities. We MUST remember come election day, November 8th, and vote those lawmakers out of office that do not put the lives of our kids before the wants of the NRA and refuse to support life saving measures like universal background checks.
Lives are at stake and the time for action is now before we lose more lives to gun violence!
We encourage you to wear Orange this weekend (June 3 – 5) to support this cause!
Can’t make it to Pensacola?
The Democratic Women’s Club of Okaloosa is also having a sign waving for Women’s Reproductive Freedom/Gun Reform, on June 10th, corner of Mary Esther Cutoff and Beal Parkway, in front of Ruby Tuesday’s from 3:15 – 5:00. Please join us and bring your sign. |
